What is Liev? A little help feeling at home in a new city

Moving to a city changes more than your address. You need to work out where to stay, how to get around and who to ask when something is unfamiliar. Liev is a social app built around that experience: connecting people who moved cities within India with people and conversations relevant to their new home.

Start with your route: your home district and current city. Then choose one practical next step, such as introducing yourself or joining a relevant group.

A social app built around your route

A city name tells only part of your story. Someone who moved from your home district may understand your language, food preferences or the journey you take to visit family. Liev brings your home district and current city into the same profile, helping you discover people who share that route.

Think of a person moving from Jhunjhunu to Kota, or from Bikaner to Surat. These are examples of the connections the app is designed to make easier, rather than promises that a particular community or listing is already available. What you find depends on the people participating in your city.

What can you do on Liev?

Liev brings several everyday needs into one place. You can start with a question in the city feed and follow up through a connection, a group or an event.

  • Home: read city posts, ask questions, introduce yourself and take part in polls.
  • People: discover people from your home district and people who recently arrived.
  • Groups: join communities with shared interests, local knowledge and their own rules.
  • Spaces: find or organise meet-ups, study circles and help sessions.
  • Housing and jobs: read tagged housing posts and explore openings shared by members.
  • Chats: continue a conversation after a personal connection is accepted.

A useful first day on the app

Set your home district and current city carefully, then write a short introduction. Mention what brought you to the city and one thing you would like to learn. An introduction such as ‘I moved here for work and would like recommendations for a vegetarian mess near my office area’ gives people a clear way to help.

Read a few recent posts before writing your own. Check whether someone has already answered your question, save useful information and look for a group with active, relevant conversations. You do not need to join every group or connect with everyone on your first day.

Who might find it useful?

An adult student might use Liev to ask about neighbourhoods and study circles. Someone starting a job might look for a flatmate, a commute suggestion or weekend company. A long-time resident can share the local knowledge they wish they had when they first arrived.

Local businesses have a role too. A tiffin service, tutor or neighbourhood shop can use a business profile to explain what it offers and receive enquiries. Personal accounts and business accounts have different connection behaviour, so choose the account that matches how you plan to use the app.

Keep control of what you share

For personal accounts, direct chat starts after an accepted connection request. Business profiles can accept connections instantly so customers can reach them. Review your privacy settings before adding work, education or address information, and share only what you are comfortable making visible.

Liev helps people discover one another; a profile or shared home district does not guarantee a trustworthy transaction. Check housing and job details independently, meet new people thoughtfully and use reporting or blocking when needed. A helpful community starts with small, respectful interactions.

Common questions

Is Liev only for people who have just moved?

No. New arrivals can ask for help, while people who have lived in a city longer can share recommendations, join groups and build local connections.

Who can create a Liev account?

Liev is for adults aged 18 and over, as set out in the Terms of use. Check the website for current app availability.
